Fidning the Right Dropship Sources

If you've been around ecommerce or auction sites for any length of time then you've more than likely heard of dropshipping. In particular you may have seen all of the dropship source directories for sale... Everyone claiming to have the 'holy grail' when it comes to this topic.

The fact of the matter is you can really get burnt trying to find the right dropshipping source. For one, the majority of those directories people are always trying to sell on ebay are completely useless. Secondly the best dropship source is the one that you personally find and make deal with.

Find product

It's all about finding certain products that you want to sell and tracking them back where they come from... If you can track them back to the warehouse where they were originally shipped from then you can get the best deals.

This is something you really have to do your homework on... Take a look at some of the categories on eBay; it doesn't take long to see which sellers got the short end of the stick. Usually they're in a price war fighting over pennies. However the sellers who have done their homework and have made deals with the right dropship sources usually laugh all the way to the bank.

It's important to know from the start that if you dropship, no matter how hard you try some products just aren't worth trying to sell. This is because dropshipping leaves the least amount of space for profit. Some people buy in bulk and keep products at their house; buying in bulk of course allows you to get products cheaper therefore you can sell cheaper and beat out all of the dropshippers.

How to trust a dropshipper

Now more than likely you're going to have to pay to see any good reliable dropship reviews, not because people just want to sell them but because the warehouse that dropships usually doesn't like to be well known, and for good reason.   Companies that sell products in bulk only want serious sellers who are going to sell a lot of products and ask for a lot of orders... They don't really care about the little guy who's going to sell a few things every now and then. Because of this it is important to appear professional and have everything in order when you talk to one of these companies... Make sure you have an LLC (Limited Liability Company) set up.   Probably the best advice I could give you is to shop around. Don't fall in love with the first company you come across; prices are competitive so do your best to find the lowest prices before you go for any particular dropshipper.

What to sell on your web store

Another thing to be sure of is what types of products the company dropships... They can send you a list of items; make sure you know what you want to sell in advance. Do some market research and find what's selling well; at the same time steer clear of fools gold... This is where something looks highly profitable but you'll just end up in pricing wars and make only pennies per sale.

Overall finding the right dropship source is all about one thing, and that's doing your homework. Study up on all possible companies that you want to work with. Compare prices and make sure that the items that they dropship are easy to sell without a ton of competition. Some of the most successful ecommerce and ebay sellers I know sell rather strange items. Think of it this way; if it's not selling in a mall somewhere or in department stores then it's usually a good product to sell because people have to come onto the internet to buy it.
